Great Summer Read Giveaway! Book, Beach towel, Beach Tote and Sunscreen Plus $100!

Have you ever watched those home shows where they have bought a dilapidated house and turned it into a show piece? It is certainly fascinating to watch. However, what if one of those houses has former ghost inhabitants that just do not want to leave?

Author Michael Phillip Cash's newest book, The Flip is all about a house flip going terribly wrong.

"Julie and Brad Evans are house flippers. They buy low, clean out the old occupants junk, and try to make a profit. Enter Hemmings House on Bedlam Street in scenic Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island. Too good a deal to pass up, but with an ominous secret. The old Victorian Mansion has dwellers that do not want to be dispossessed. As the house reveals it's past, will the couples marriage survive The Flip?"

Just in time for Memorial Day weekend and looking toward the Summer,  Michael Phillip Cash wants to introduce The Flip to the world at large. The author is generously giving a great and fun prize pack that will set the winner up right for Summer fun in the sun.

One winner will receive all of the following:

*A copy of his book, The Flip

*A screen printed beach towel
*A bottle of sunscreen
*A tote to hold it all
*$100 Paypal cash

Freelance Writers: Need Some Inspiration? Start Here

Every week I read tons of good information for freelance writers, and 99 percent of the time, I forget to share it. I am going to try and make a habit of collecting it all and publishing it once a week, because I know that if I found it valuable, there are lots of other writers that will, too. (And that funny writing meme is just for fun. Cuz you know I really do think I'm Mark Twain, right?)

Here is a post from writing guru Carol Tice about how to promote your blog posts and get lots of eyeballs on your writing. Blogs are critical for all writers. Even if you are writing your blockbuster novel, a blog is still vital, as it gives you an awesome marketing platform to work from.

This blog post is from our sister blog on WordPress, and discusses how to find clients-- good clients-- the kind of clients that make you enjoy writing for them, are thrilled with the work you do, and pay you fairly.

I am sharing this blog post because it has a short list of other writing blogs that are valuable and you should check out.

This post talks about creating an artificial deadline to force yourself to write. If you have not encountered writer's block yet, you will. This can help with writer's block; it can also help with distractions, in case you happen to be an adult with ADHD (unfortunately, I definitely am).

Writing is an awesome way to make a living. After all, you get to make up stuff as you go along. What could be better than that? This article discusses it more in depth, and is a great read.

First Things First...Where Should you Start?

Because I have been working from home for years, I constantly am asked what I do, where I find work, and how I got started. In essence, that is the entire point of this blog...sharing all those things with all of you.

It honestly took me a year or so to find ways to make "real" money weed through all the B.S. that is out there, and get to the places that pay. If you read the rest of this article, you can take some shortcuts and get started right away!

Refurbished Computers are a Great Bargain!

If you are like me and work your computers to death, it can be expensive staying in business! I literally have to replace one of the components or some software every few months. That is why I was excited to meet Gareth and Paul--- owners of EFlex Computers! They refurbished preowned and off- lease computers for resale. You can buy a great computer with all the bells and whistles for a fraction of what a new computer would cost. I will never buy a new computer again:)
